The 2027 Ryder Cup is at Adare Manor, County Limerick, from 13 to 19 September 2027, with match play on 17, 18 and 19 September. A workable trip plan has four parts: a ticket route that organisers accept, a base within reach of the Adare transport network, a way to reach the course without a car, and a few days around the matches so the trip is more than three long days in a field. This guide covers each part in the order you will need to decide them.
TL;DR
- The matches run Friday 17 to Sunday 19 September 2027, with build-up days from Monday 13 to Thursday 16 September.
- Only tickets from official Ryder Cup channels are accepted, and every fan needs a registered ticket account. The global ballot has closed, so hotel-inclusive packages are the main route left.
- There is no spectator parking at Adare Manor. Plan around Park and Ride or the train shuttle.
- Adare village has very little accommodation that week, so choose a base in a larger town or a self-catering house, and book early.
- Use the days around the matches for links golf, the Cliffs of Moher and the Wild Atlantic Way, and keep competition days free of other plans.

The dates and how the week is structured
The event runs across seven days. According to the Ryder Cup's own announcement, there are four build-up days from 13 to 16 September, followed by three match days from 17 to 19 September 2027. The official format is five match-play sessions over those three days.

That structure gives you choices. Match days are the biggest occasions, but practice days are cheaper and calmer. At the time of the 2026 sales announcement, general admission match-day tickets were €499, while practice day tickets started at €89 for Tuesday and Wednesday and €179 for Thursday. Check the official ticket page for current prices, because they can change.
If you cannot get a match-day ticket, a practice-day visit still puts you on the course with the players. Many people combine one or two days at the venue with the rest of the week touring the west.
Tickets: what is confirmed and what to do now
The sales windows have moved on. The first window for residents of the island of Ireland opened on 24 April 2026, and a global public ballot followed on 3 June 2026, as set out in the official sales announcement. The official ticket information page states that the global ballot is now closed.
Two rules matter most:
- Every fan attending needs a registered ticket account.
- Only tickets secured through official Ryder Cup channels will be accepted. Tickets from anywhere else are a risk you do not need to take.
If you did not win in the ballot, the route to look at is ticket-inclusive hotel packages from Ryder Cup Travel Services. Packages bundle the ticket with accommodation, so you are paying for the hotel as well. Compare what is included before you commit, and keep an eye on the official ticket page for any further release.
Getting to Adare Manor on match days
This is the part that catches people out. Organisers say there will be no spectator parking on-site and recommend the Park and Ride services or the dedicated train shuttle system. Do not plan to drive to the gate.
What that means for your plan:
- Pick a base on a bus or rail corridor. If your accommodation has easy access to the Park and Ride sites or a station on the shuttle route, your match days will be much simpler. Check the official transport page for the current list of sites and timetables before you book anything.
- Leave extra time. Golf Adventures Ireland advises allowing for heavier traffic and possible road closures on match days.
- Decide who drives. If one person is driving to a Park and Ride, agree the return plan in advance, including what happens after the last putt when thousands of people leave at the same time.
- Know the rail option. One transport guide describes a dedicated train service from Limerick Junction alongside the shuttle buses. Confirm details on the official page, since services are set by the organisers.
On non-match days, you can use your own car for touring. Just keep the car well away from the course on competition days.
Where to stay for the Ryder Cup
Adare Manor is a five-star resort estate, and the village of Adare has very limited accommodation during Ryder Cup week. So the question is not "what is nearest" but "what is practical".
The options, by type
Base type · Best for · What to weigh up
Hotel in a regional hub (Cork, Killarney, Galway, Tralee) · Couples and small groups who want dining and nightlife · Official packages use these hubs, with five nights' accommodation and transfers to Adare Manor
Self-catering house · Groups of four or more, families, friends sharing costs · Space, a kitchen and a living room for the group, but you organise your own transport
Guest house or B&B · Two to four people who want breakfast and local advice · Fewer rooms per property, so they sell out first
Hotel near the venue · People who want the shortest journey · Scarce and expensive in event week
Visitors often choose Killarney or Cork city because they offer a wider range of accommodation, dining and nightlife than anywhere near the estate. The same source says a Southwest base gives more space and options, plus local culture and extra golf.
Why a self-catering house suits this trip
The Ryder Cup is a group event. Friends travel together, families split days, and everyone wants somewhere to meet at the end of a long day. Splitting a house between six or eight people can work out sensible per head, and you get a table to talk through the day's matches at. It also gives you flexibility around meal times, which matters when match days start early and finish late.

We manage holiday homes and guest houses in Ireland, and we have written about where to stay for the Ryder Cup at Adare Manor and accommodation near Adare Manor in more detail. For the wider west coast, our Howards Way stay in Liscannor in County Clare is a base for the part of the trip that goes beyond the matches. You can see the rest of what we manage on our stays page. Availability for September 2027 changes, so check the listing for the current position and be realistic about the distance to Adare before you book a base outside Limerick.
A realistic itinerary around the matches
The mistake most visitors make is to fill every day. Match days are long. You will walk a lot, stand in crowds and travel in queues. Keep those days clear and put everything else either side.
Five nights: the match-focused trip
A five-night package can combine four event days with a stay in Killarney or Cork. A sensible shape:
- Arrival day: land at Shannon, Cork or Dublin, settle in, and keep the evening easy.
- Practice day: see the course and the players with smaller crowds.
- Match days: travel early by Park and Ride or train, and plan to be back late.
- Departure day: a slow morning, then home.
Seven to eight nights: matches plus the west of Ireland
A longer trip lets you add golf and scenery. The eight-night package option adds three Southwest golf rounds, and the same source suggests pairing the matches with rounds at links courses such as Lahinch, Ballybunion or Tralee. Here is one way to build it yourself:
- Days 1 to 2: arrive in County Clare or Limerick. Walk the cliffs, eat well, adjust to the time zone.
- Day 3: a round at a links course. Our guide to where to stay near Lahinch Golf Club covers hotels and self-catering in that area.
- Day 4: the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren. See our page on hotels near the Cliffs of Moher.
- Days 5 to 7: the Ryder Cup. Keep these clear.
- Day 8: return journey, with a buffer for traffic.
If you are travelling with people who do not play or watch golf, the days around the matches are when they will enjoy the trip most. Think of the Ryder Cup days as one part of a holiday rather than the whole holiday.
What to book first, and what can wait
Book in this order:
- Tickets or a ticket-inclusive package. Nothing else matters without these.
- Accommodation. Event-week stock is limited, and the good houses and guest houses go first.
- Flights and car hire. Both tighten around a big event, and you will want a car for the touring days.
- Tee times. Links courses in the west fill up in September, so contact them as soon as your dates are fixed.
- Restaurants and experiences. Reserve for the evenings you already know you will be free.
What can wait: the detail of match-day transport (until the organisers publish timetables) and your outfit for the day (Irish September weather is changeable, so pack layers and waterproofs).
Why we recommend planning around a local base
We run short-term rental properties across Ireland, and we see the same pattern with every big event: people book tickets first and accommodation last, then discover the nearby options have gone.
Our approach is to treat each property as a base for the whole trip, not just a bed. Every house we manage has its own guest-facing brand, a local team and guides to the area, so guests know where to eat, what to see and how to fill the days between the matches. We also offer local experiences such as days out and wellness through our shop, so groups can add things to their stay without hunting for them.
For a Ryder Cup trip, our advice is simple. Choose a base that suits your group size, check how you will reach the Park and Ride or train, and keep the match days free. A house with space to relax makes a better week than a cramped room near the course.

Practical details that save a bad day
- Weather: Pack for rain and wind even in September. A light waterproof and sturdy shoes are worth more than a good outfit.
- Cash and cards: Expect card payments to be standard, but keep a little cash for rural stops.
- Phone batteries: Long days of tickets, maps and photos drain phones. Carry a power bank.
- Registered account: Everyone attending needs their own ticket account, so sort this early, particularly for children and for tickets you are buying for others.
- Travel insurance: Check that your policy covers cancellation, since event tickets are tied to fixed dates.
- After the matches: Plan a late dinner or cook at your accommodation. Restaurants near transport hubs will be busy.
